About Wendy

Wendy is an experienced Occupational Therapist specialising in housing adaptations and equipment provision to facilitate functional independence at home, for both adults and children. 

Wendy is an effective and dynamic problem solver, combining her passion for a person-centred approach with an objective and pragmatic outlook. Wendy has worked almost exclusively in community-based settings, both rural and urban, since graduating in Australia in 2000.  Wendy has lived and worked in the UK, with the private and statutory sectors, since 2004.

Wendy has extensive clinical experience in adapting bathrooms and kitchens, designing extensions and installing through floor lifts, stair lifts, ceiling hoists and ramps. Wendy enjoys working collaboratively with clients and their families to ensure that adaptations are tailored to meet both the specific needs of the client and the wider needs of the household. Wendy has experience working with drawings and specifications and liaising with surveyors, architects and contractors.

Wendy is also experienced in assessing for a range of equipment, including but not limited to specialist seating, shower / bathing / toileting equipment, hoists and slings.  Wendy has enjoyed working on bespoke equipment solutions to problems with organisations such as REMAP.

Wendy has an excellent manner with children and adults alike.  Wendy is approachable and professional, efficient and organised.  Wendy has extensive experience supporting clients with physical and neurological impairments, learning disabilities and mental health conditions and has worked with clients with a range of specific conditions, including Spinal Cord Injuries, Acquired Brain Injury, Amputations and Cerebral Palsy, Motor Neuron Disease, Parkinson’s and Dementia, to name a few.
