About Tara

Tara is a friendly, creative and enthusiastic HCPC Registered Occupational Therapist who is committed to empowering her clients to take ownership of their recovery journey, encouraging them towards a recovery-focused and occupationally balanced mindset.

Through use of therapeutic engagement, Tara enjoys meeting the needs of clients with a range of needs, helping them and their families to achieve their very best and succeed in areas where they may be struggling.

Tara is incredibly passionate about supporting her clients to gain greater control over their lives, aiding them in exploring why they feel the way they do, what contributes to their actions and what support can be put in place to help them make positive changes to support their mental health and wellbeing.

Tara has an interest in supporting children & young people with an Autism and/ or a learning disability diagnosis to access appropriate support and to avoid hospital admissions. Tara is keen to continue supporting young people with mild, moderate and complex mental health concerns and behavioural difficulties through a preventative approach in the community.

Tara is well practiced at using recovery focused models such as MOHO and MBT. Tara has in depth knowledge of specific occupational therapy models and outcome measures which promote a recovery- focused attitude.

Tara has completed training in PTSD and trauma. She has experience of supporting clients who have experienced trauma through a trauma-informed approach; as well as supporting those with sensory, emotional regulation and communication difficulties and difficulties achieving their occupational demands (activities of daily living).

Tara enjoys finding practical ways to support clients achieve their goals and believes change comes through doing.
