About Jamie

Jamie is an accomplished Occupational Therapist, based in the North-East of England with over 30 years of experience working, pre and post qualifying, in both private healthcare and education. Jamie brings a unique perspective to the field, being a permanent wheelchair user. His life and work experience, as well as his post graduate clinical experience; combined with his passion for helping people with physical, cognitive, social or mental health challenges; means Jamie has many valuable and transferrable skills.

Jamie works with clients who have a wide range of physical, cognitive and/or mental health challenges to increase their independence, participation and vocational abilities. He completes holistic assessments and delivers tailored, client- centered interventions to increase his clients’ confidence at home as well as in the community (for example through travel training, managing money, shopping, etc). Working collaboratively with his clients, Jamie sets and reviews meaningful and achievable goals.

With his expertise in the disability sector, Jamie assists individuals of all ages with physical and/or learning disabilities, both in the UK and abroad, imparting vast knowledge on aids and equipment as well as conducting comprehensive assessments. With a fifteen-year background in educational settings, Jamie has empowered neurodiverse young people by teaching essential life and social skills.

Jamie’s commitment to facilitating personal growth and empowerment is central to his diverse and invaluable contributions in the field of Occupational Therapy.
